Flat Elin
Flat Elin has arrived safely in Reading, PA (You know it as a railroad on the Monopoly board!). It’s been a long week in the postal system, so Flat Elin is tucked into bed for the night with some stuffed animal friends.

Hello,
I wanted to send a note to let everyone know that we will be on a trip for the rest of the week. You will not hear from us for a few days, but we are safe.
Tonight we are making final preparations for our trip. We are going sailing and will be staying overnight on the boat. The attached picture shows Flat Abigail checking our chart to be sure she knows where we are going, the distance from island to island and how deep the water is. We then made what is called a float plan to let people know where we will be and when to expect us to return home.
The map shows four sailboats to let everyone know the four different places we will be staying. The first few nights we will be anchored near one of the islands. On our last night, we will be docking at a marina. The Fort Myers area is surrounded by islands, and we are lucky that we love boating!

Hello,
We started the weekend early with a relaxing day. While it rained most of Thursday, the sun came out Friday, and we enjoyed time by the pool. Sunglasses and sunscreen are a must in Florida. Flat Abigail did both!
In the evening, we went to Fort Myers downtown, which is also called the River District. The Caloosahatchee River is more than 60 miles long and runs along Fort Myers. The river is named after the Calusas, who were Native American people that settled in the area hundreds of years ago. While downtown, we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant (see picture that celebrates the Mexican culture). Finally, we enjoyed some ice cream after dinner. Everyone got a different kind, and the one Abigail enjoyed had a caramel swirl with chocolate chunks. Of course we all brushed our teeth before bed!
We will be in touch soon.

Good morning,
I wanted to let you know that Flat Elin arrived safely to Copley, Ohio. Today she will be exploring the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and has many other adventures planned during her visit.
We will provide updates and pictures of her adventures along the way.

Flat Mason
Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that Flat Stanley from Mason’s class (3B) has arrived safely in the UK.
After a very long journey we made sure that Flat Stanley rested and started to feel at home in this strange country.
He sleeps with me in my bed, but does tend to steel the blankets!
He helped my Mum with some crafts over the weekend and jumped straight in our craft box.
He then went on a trip with my Grandma for her 90th birthday and travelled on a steam train across the Surrey Hills.
Then on Sunday he came to watch me play a hockey match in Cambridge!
My dogs Ziggy & Arlo have welcomed Flat Stanley and he is already feeling part of the family!
We’ve included some photos of these times and are excited to take him on other trips with us!
For now, he’s doing really well.
Regards
Jane & Anya (age 15)
Flat Leo
Thank you for choosing Indianapolis, Indiana for Flat Leo to visit. We will make sure he has a good time and will be sad to see him go. He’s such a joy to be with.
Best regards,
Grandpa and Grammy
Flat Caitlyn
Miss Poux here is a picture of Flat Caitlyn, calls 3B, in Homer Alaska. She had a great time and there are more pictures in her journal.
She is on to a warmer place now, Florida, she really wasn't dressed right for Alaska in the winter but she looked very beautiful.

Hey class!
I just wanted to tell you what I have been up to since I started traveling! I made it to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and, wow, is it windy here! Look at the first picture of me (below)! It was so windy I couldn’t stand up! Aunt Marcella told me the wind was blowing at 50 mph. I got a better picture the next day when it wasn’t so windy. I have been staying in a city called Black Hawk and I can see the Continental Divide from our street! Can you see it in the pictures I sent? All the mountains in the Continental Divide have lots of snow on them so I am hoping we get some snow here soon.
Later, I am going to the library to check out a book! I love having a library just five minutes away from where I am. It makes getting books so easy!
Well, that's all for now! Hopefully my next update involves building a snowperson!
